Synthetic Base Stocks

Hatcol®, Synton® and Reolube® synthetic base stocks are used in specialty lubricants with properties designed to enhance formulation. The Hatcol® portfolio includes a range of mono, di and polyol esters, offering high purity and high temperature resistance and are approved for use in EU Ecolabel lubricants. Synton® high viscosity PAOs are utilized as the high viscosity synthetic oil or viscosity modifier component in demanding automotive and industrial applications. For general industrial, Reolube® fully synthetic phosphate esters are an excellent base stock, for formulating ISO VG 46 HFDR fire resistant hydraulic fluids.

Our liquid additive components support the development of high performance lubricants. Naugalube® antioxidants provide excellent inhibition, and improve fuel economy. Lobase®, Hybase® and Calcinate® detergents impart optimum detergency and corrosion protection. We offer Additin® and Durad® anti-wear and friction modifier products, from phosphate ester to the zinc containing ZnDTP. Additin® Corrosion Inhibitors (CI), protect ferrous metal components against corrosion, while our Additin® Extreme Pressure (EP) additives are state of the art light-colored sulfur carriers, with varying sulfur contents, viscosities and solubilities.

Reolube® phosphate ester based fire resistant hydraulic control fluids meet stringent operating and OEM specifications of industrial and modern power generation applications, where fire risk is high. Everest® Polyol Ester (POE) refrigeration lubricants impart optimum performance and longer service life in HFC-based systems. Royco® aerospace and defence fluids are used in the development and manufacture of MIL-SPEC lubricants for military and commercial aviation. Calcium Sulphonate Complex (CSC) greases suit ultra clean food processing to extreme marine environments.

Lubricants for wet e-motor drivelines or battery thermal fluids, require high performance additives and synthetic base stocks, that deliver wear and copper corrosion protection, oxidation control, and good thermal and electrical conductivity. New innovative additive: enables cost savings in modern road construction

Modern road pavements consist of bitumen, aggregate and additives. Polymers play an important role as modifiers, as they add elasticity and drainage to the bitumen in the composite, increasing safety. Asphalt mixtures with rubber-modified bitumen lead to significant cost savings in the construction of modern roads. Our new BA CR 36 additive acts as a versatile cross-linker and de-linker for modified bitumen, improving the performance of the asphalt mix, leading to increased lifetime of the road surface. Preventol®

Under the Preventol® brand name, we sell active ingredients and finished formulations for in-can preservation, dry-film protection, disinfection and wood protection, among other things. One example is the preservation of paints: Preventol® protects paints from taking on bad odors or discoloration caused by bacteria. This extends the life of the product and maintains its functionality, for example the spreadability of the paint.

Dyes for sustainability and new mobility

Sustainability issues can be tackled using Macrolex® high-tech soluble dyes and Bayplast® organic pigments for brillant colors in plastic. The highly advantageous properties and extremely reliable high-class quality predestine them for numerous applications – automotive, food packaging, toys, and many more. Therefore, Macrolex® dyes are promising candidates for applications in New Mobility. For this purpose orange colored high voltage components are desired predominantly. Our new Macrolex® orange dye meets the upcoming demanding requirements perfectly: e.g. brilliant color and very high thermal stability in polyamide.

Fine paste products from LANXESS are aqueous dispersions of organic pigments – Levanyl® – and inorganic pigments – Levanox®. The new PBT product range Pocan XHR is a practical all-rounder

Pocan XHR (Xtreme Hydrolysis-Resistant) offers a lot of outstanding material properties as high hydrolysis resistance, excellent long-term temperature stability, improved chemical resistance, or flame-retardancy. The Pocan XHR product range from LANXESS offers an excellent resistance to hydrolytic degradation in very hot and humid conditions. It is stable in hot and dry conditions, tailor-made for overmolding of metal parts, provides good processing characteristics, and shows improved alkaline stability.
